the future's so bright, I gotta wear shades.

post by casey

first. Can you believe that these 2 clowns will be in the same class...the year 2020, they'll be starting kindergarten together.

side note: there's going to be a 2020. two-thousand-TWENTY. What the?!??! That's kinda blowing my mind right now...

also. To take this to a grab me a paper bag cause I'm fucking hyperventilating level of disgust: they'll be walking the stage to graduate high school together. Class of 2033.

what a waste, I just puked up all my coffee. Putting on my sunglasses to finish the rest of the post;')

monday is just a mindset, my friends! Let's have a good one:)

SAHM wear

does it frighten you to know that prior to taking this photo, we were all:

"we don't look toooooo shabby today, we should do a Fashion Post!"

i don't have enough time today, to explain the process of looking this gooooodddd - there's more sarcasm in that sentence than extra sugar-butter on my Cinnabon...and that's A.LOT...also, taking any opportunity available to give Cinnabon a SHOUT-OUT. #sponsormylifecinnabon
Oops. Blah blah...so with all the zoning out I'll be doing and those trips to the coffee maker and the pop-tarts aren't just gonna put themselves in the toaster!!!;) - I wish I could deny that this is what my day will and is consisting of;), that leaves LITTLE to NO time to step you through my creative fashion process;(

well, heck...while I wait for my 4yr old to finish taking a dump...I'll give you the play-by-play.

wake up, after 5 hours of interrupted sleep, to my 4yr old sitting silently in the corner of my room drinking a glass of milk, staring at me.

START COFFEE IMMEDIATELY.

do the bathroom stuff, where I wash my face/brush my teeth/apply face shit that has yet to improve what that 5hrs of interrupted sleep is doing to my face.

smell pile of clothes laying on the bathroom floor and hesitate too long in deciding (luckily, for anyone I'll be encountering that day) that I'll need to make the trek back upstairs for some 'clean' clothes.

grab skinny black yoga pants.

THE END.

the most difficult part of this entire process is finding a top that's long enough to cover my ass in the skinny black yoga pants;)

and so on with it. The perfect Having-Coffee-With-Your-Sister-On-A-Monday outfit.

da Brown's:)

post by casey.

we knew going into the summer, that it wasn't likely we'd take any bigger trips or overnight getaways - minus our Christmas in the Dells...which seems like a lifetime ago:(...and I guess we did do a quick trip to CHI, as well:)
Jacob is SO busy in the summer months, catering. And since the sale of the 2nd house, we're trying to behave and finish up the last of our debt so we can move on with our lives, debt-free!!!!

and because Jacob misses out on all the fun and love and sun and chaos and also those fits due to missed naps at the lake and spankings and timeouts and breakdowns and accidental baby heads to my nose...I like to keep him in the loop by sending him everything I'm thinking cause I don't want him to forget what an emotional roller coaster I'm on. Daily.

Daily Texts (authentic - pulled straight from my phone!!:)

"i should call a real-estate agent and see how much we can get for the house and sell it and then we'll build..." - after binge watching Chip & Joanna, Fixer Upper

"Dave Ramsey says we can only afford a $400 mortgage. That's what we should be paying for our mortgage. That is fucking REAL!!!!!!!"

"dad says that people drywall their houses cause that's actually the cheapest option. And even THAT is so fucking expensive."

"we literally can not afford a not done house or a new house or drywall."

"I just fed the kids PB&J...on fucking English Muffins. - poor"

"I miss you something fierce."

"where's a level?"

"where's a paint tray?"

"hi:)"

'when will you be homeeeeeeeee???:((((????" - 237PM

"how big is our TV?"

"is the TV too heavy for me and a woman to carry to her car? Will it fit in the back of a car?"

"Oh, I sold our TV"

"Can I go to Target??????"

"D ran a fucking way. AGAIN!!!!!"

"it'd be great if your check was a million dollars on Wednesday:)"

"cops called. Found D!!!!!!:::::/"

"I'm glad you're mine:)"

surprisingly, these are normally pretty one-sided conversations;)

SO here's a little trip we took to visit friends in June. Courts' family has made this an annual adventure but this was our first year - minus Jacob...Jacob, who?;) - staying the night on their property and hitting up the splash-pad and doing a little camping:)

perfect day for the splash pad!:)

my suit: Old Navy
I don't see it on their site but it was on super sale, in-store, earlier this summer
*the trace of side-boob was not for the purpose of catching the eye of the dad's at the splash pad but strictly for nursing access;)*
same goes for Rocky's suit: Old Navy (the in-store availability/sale price, not the side-boob;)

one of my favorite things: coffee and breakfast outside, on a warm summer day:)

the kids have been getting really good at sleeping with me on these little get-aways. Squeezing into one bed or part of the floor could be disastrous but they have been real troopers:) And it's just nice to not sit home all weekend and feel 'stuck' in the house...so we split the cost of food and meal prep and have gotten a pretty good system in place for an inexpensive weekend away:)

thank you for having us, Brown's! See ya next year:)

coffee mornin island

post by Courtney

photo taken Friday, April 22, 2016
next week will be our last full week of enjoying baby snuggles every morning. we'll be taking full advantage.

I really should make some banana bread tonight (the bananas are now completely brown), but I think I'll just go to bed early with the kids instead ;)

smoothie island

Saturday we skipped lunch and had smoothies instead. They were sooo good the kids ate extra well for supper ;) they definitely weren't the worst, but may need a bit of tweaking to get it just right. Here's the island right smack dab in the middle of smoothies. and unfortunately (or maybe fortunately for you guys!) we didn't follow any recipes... mostly: some of this, some of that, a handful of those, a dollop of anything sweet (no sugar though, oddly enough) and wwwwaaaallllaaaaa "smoothies!"

clarification: no sausages made it into any of the smoothies. you could call those lunch ;)

$2.70. coffee mornin make-over.

it's a lot bit scary how much this $2 tube of chunky lip pencil can make me feel so fannnncy!!!:) - found at the local Dollar Store!!:) For instance: I'm not wearing make-up, those eye bagssss:/, baby vomit on the shoulder...but this red lip almost makes me think that leaving the house in my 'condition' is acceptable. Causeeeeeee LOOK AT NOTHING BUT MY LIPS, worlddddddd!!!!;):):)

anddddd there's my small/thin top lip. I thought that meant I could just never do red lips. BUT I think more than what size lips you have...it's more about NOT GIVING A SHIT. Just wear the red lips if you wanna wear the red lips;)

good grief...my eye bags are bigger than my upper lip!!!! LOL;)

so this morning, over coffee and panacakes - served up hot by, Courts...thanks, bitch;) - we put on red lips and dyed our hair blue, with Kool-aid:)

moral of this coffee mornin: if red lips and blue hair make you feel pretty. Good. Better than good. Fabulous:)

coffee mornin island

photo taken Tuesday, February 2

this was a particularly productive coffee mornin. blog planning. banana bread. brownies... (lots of B's, as in the letter. not BS) ;) ran out of eggs while making those brownies... shocking actually as we buy them seven dozen at a time (no joke!)

this seems fairly boring to me actually... maybe we should have the kids dancing on the island for this series instead... hmm, something to ponder ;)
