#the52project Week22

post by casey.

doing my best to type up this blog post while Theo asks if she can "take my eye balls out". Alrighty, then;).

it's only Saturday but it feels like we've lived a lifetime since 6PM on Friday night! It's been go-go-go. Not a bad thing but the homemade cards - the only thing we had loosely planned for Jacob - did not get accomplished today. Shittttttt. With that being said, tomorrow may be pretty uneventful because Jacob has to work AND he doesn't have any cards to open;). Happppyyyyyy Father's Dayyyyyyy!!!;)

wrapping this up because crying kids, combined with the word "noooooo" can only signify one awful/cruel/painful thing: BEDTIME;)

my good stuff: adding France to the Travel List - specifically, L 'Escale du Ciel:). talking baby names with Jacob. quiet/nonshared dinners after the kids are in bed:)

homer - I still don't know how to turn a grill on and then there's this kid who is damn near ready for his own business card!!!;)

theo daisy - a, sometimes, sweet mess:)

rockyp - no one can spot a bird like RockyP;):)

what's the opposite of a Green Thumb?

how to make your yard look pretty 101:

go to the greenhouse with a relatively small budget.

BLOW the budget on just 2 large and beautiful hanging plants!

return to the greenhouse with more money that you don't have and blow through a 2nd budget.

plant the plants.

regret never having replaced the gutters when you re-roofed, 3 years ago, cause now you have to replant several plants that were washed out with the rain:/

regret having told your sister, who is also your Insurance Agent, about the gutter situation...cause apparently gutters are a must for your insurance?!;/

plant the plants...again.

recruit your sister/Insurance Agent to come help you do all.the.things.
- if you're looking for the BEST INSURANCE AGENT EVER...hit me up for information:)

and that's really it! Not so hard and there mayyyyyy even be a few steps in there, that are required of me but that YOU can skip;)

thank gawdddd for Aunt Pigg...nothing would have gotten accomplished without her here to motivate us:) THANK YOU, PIGG!!!:)

gardener attire;)

break for the sprinkler:)

and I couldn't have done it without the...wait. Nope...I could have done it much faster and more efficiently without their help but then who would be there to interrupt me a gazillion times and throw the wood chips into the yard and remind me that I have no patience for such things anddddd keep me humble?;)

now here is what I'm working with...what my husband referred to as a turd;) But with a couple flowers and a full day of weeding...she looks prettyyyyyy improved:)

AFTER
i've since finished the wood chips but don't have a final photo. BUT this is it and I just think the little bit that we did, made all the difference! I'm really happy with how it turned out! Someday, years from now, we hope to restore or replace the siding and so we just wanted an inexpensive and simple fix to the landscaping...for now:)

and a BEFORE and AFTER right next to each other....

there are also some areas that I haven't gotten an AFTER photo of...this is the before of another corner of the house. Believe it or not, there's a little sidewalk under that mess and you can clearly see it now!:)

BEFORE
this is the opposite side of the house (N side). Jacob worked on weeding. We have no plans for this but to keep it grass, at this point.

AFTER

so there you have it! This project definitely motivated me to keep moving along with some of the things we can DIY on this house - and we are not much for DIY-ing, unfortunately. But I'd like to paint more windows/trim and just keep cleaning things up:) We're also trying to keep the To Do List empty this summer...just chill and do what we want, if anything, and for a minimal cost:)

we hope you accomplish some of those Home Improvement Projects on your list and if you don't...we hope you don't sweat it!:)

#the52project Week21

post by casey.

anyone happen to know what week we're on!? Anyone out there???? Yeahhhhhh...I think we're all in Summer Vacation mode and the inevitable is happening: blog neglect. But don't worry...the blog isn't the only thing that we neglect during Summer Vacation;) There's days that I don't think we actually eat a real meal cause we're constantly outside and snacking and on the go and fending for our own damn selves;). And the kids should for sure be getting baths every night and they're for sureeeee not getting baths every night and so then their sheets should be getting changed and that ain't happening either! And since we're outside 24/7...the inside looks like we hustled to get outside and so yeah...EVERYTHING IS DIRTY!!!

and that's just not at all a complaint:) We're loving our days together and we're so lucky that we get these days together and there are still time-outs and fits over not being able to play on electronics and sassy mouths and me yelling and themmm yelling;)...but we're doing okay...better than okay:)

my good stuff: good friends getting engaged!!:) Wednesday Beach Day! winning an Instagram give-away:)

theo daisy - will she forever be my only girl?! Gosh, I love her spunk:)

rockyp - refusing to stay my baby:)
*he can't sit there by himself but insisted and I allowed it long enough for this photo:)

twenty weeks.

post by casey.

halfway there.

jacob and I got away for a few hours a couple nights ago and across the table at Fazolis;), we talked about baby names and how excited we are for this dang baby anddddd how the moon and sun have been positioned in the sky - cause I'm married to someone who pays attention to such things:)

i've been feeling so good and happy and excited and just not really too nervous or anxious about the idea of 'four'. I try to remind myself and Jacob, in the moments that it does get extra reallllll, that the sleepless nights go fast and the schedules change - Homer will be going to school this fall and so we'll have 2 nappers and a baby at home (DOABLE;). And everything changes all too quickly and one moment we'll be drowning in parenthood and the next...not as much:);).

a few things: as good as I do feel...I feel huge and wish I could exercise a little self-control but unfortunately...I don't...and when I'm hungry...I eat. All.The.UNHEALTHY.Things;). On track to gain that 55lbs! I'm told it's rare to have a husband run to get you food at any hour of the day and so I consider myself lucky and full;). I have been trying to stay active and as much fun as a summer baby would have been this time around, it's easier for me to keep moving during a summer pregnancy:)
I thinkkkkkk we already have our top 2 boy and top 2 girl names ready and we're excited about all of them!
Still hearing a lot of people say that they think it's a girl and I agree:)
Trying to grow my hair out so that I can get that top knot before the baby comes. I'm putting this out there: do NOT let me chop my hair after this baby. I always do and I always kindaaaaa regret it. That is all:)
Jacob felt the baby kick for the first time last night:)
